Partner Agreement

1. Who can join

The PureTome Partner Program is open to partners based in the United States only. We are not able to onboard partners outside the US at this time, because we cannot yet handle the tax documentation international payouts require.

You must be at least 18 years old and apply under your own name or the name of a business you control. Every application is reviewed by a person; we may decline an application for any reason, and we do not have to give one.

You may not bid on PureTome trademarks in paid search, promote PureTome through unsolicited email, or represent yourself as PureTome, an employee of PureTome, or a reseller.

2. You must disclose the relationship

The US Federal Trade Commission requires you to disclose that you earn a commission when you recommend PureTome. This is not optional and it is not something we can do on your behalf.

The disclosure must be clear, in your own words, and close to the link itself — in the same post, the same email, the same video description, or spoken aloud in the same segment. Burying it in a page footer, an "affiliates" page, or a hashtag at the end of a caption does not satisfy the requirement.

Something as short as "I earn a commission if you buy through this link" is enough. Failing to disclose is grounds for termination and for withholding unpaid commissions.

3. What you earn

You earn $35.70 for each PureTome Manuscript License purchased by someone you referred. The Manuscript License is $149.

Formally, a commission is the lesser of $35.70 or 30% of the amount we actually receive for the sale. The two are the same at full price; the percentage matters only if the buyer used a discount, so that a commission can never exceed 30% of money we did not receive.

A referral is credited to you when someone creates a PureTome account within 90 days of following your referral link, and they buy a Manuscript License while that referral is still current. Credit is recorded at signup and is not moved by a later referral from anyone else.

Credit Refills, subscriptions and any other purchase besides a first Manuscript License do not pay a commission. Gift purchases do not pay a commission, and neither does a licence someone receives by redeeming a gift.

You cannot earn a commission on your own purchase, on a purchase made by an account you control, or on a purchase paid for with a card already registered to your own account.

4. When a commission becomes payable

A commission is recorded as pending the moment the sale completes. It clears — becomes payable — when the buyer's purchase can no longer be refunded, which is 14 days after the sale, or sooner if the buyer has used 5,000 credits by then. Either condition alone is enough.

That is deliberately the mirror image of our refund policy rather than a separate holding period we invented. It means the earliest moment your commission is safe is the exact moment our revenue is.

Cleared commissions are paid monthly. There is a $50 minimum: if your cleared balance is under $50 at the end of a month, it rolls forward to the next month rather than being paid out.

Before we can send you money you must complete Stripe's payout onboarding yourself. We cannot accept Stripe's terms on your behalf, so a balance can be cleared and still unpayable until you have done it.

5. Refunds, chargebacks and clawbacks

PureTome offers a 14-day money-back guarantee, subject to a usage condition: a buyer is eligible for a full refund only if they have used less than 5,000 Credits total. If they have consumed 5,000 Credits or more they are treated as having consumed the product and no refund is issued, regardless of the time elapsed.

Please state the condition when you mention the guarantee. Describing it as an unconditional "100% refund" sets an expectation your audience will bring back to you, not to us.

If a sale you were credited for is later refunded or charged back, the commission is reversed. If it had not been paid yet, it simply comes out of your pending balance. If it had already been paid, the amount is carried as owed and netted against your next payout — never invoiced back to you.

If we successfully defend a chargeback and keep the revenue, the commission is reinstated to whatever state it was in before the dispute. You do not lose a commission on a sale we ultimately kept.

6. Ending the arrangement

You may leave the program at any time by telling us. We may end it at any time as well, with notice by email.

If either of us ends it, commissions already cleared are still paid on the next scheduled payout, subject to the same $50 minimum and any clawback owed. Pending commissions continue to clear on their normal schedule and are paid when they do.

The exception is termination for cause — undisclosed promotion, self-referral, trademark bidding, spam, or misrepresenting what PureTome does. In those cases we may withhold unpaid commissions, and we will tell you why.

Your referral link stops working when the arrangement ends. Referrals already recorded are unaffected.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update this agreement. If the commission amount, the clearing rule or the payout terms change, we will email you before the change takes effect, and the new terms will not apply to commissions already recorded.

The rate that applied when a sale happened is frozen onto that commission, so a change here can never rewrite money already promised to you.
